Mount Rushmore in life

faith in leadership wanes often for me because I find that many people in leadership roles, especially corporate, are only in power through stealing ideas & minimizing subordinates so they seem bigger than they are. a real leader is drawn to power through trying times, not because they want the job but because their skill set & mentality is needed.
leaders have tenacity to take risks when needed, but the wisdom to know when the time is right. their actions aren't impulsive or trivial. they can make accurate decisions in a timely fashion because of their experience & mentorship. the best leaders have a mentor for each aspect of their life, so that they can have fewer issues or so they can find quicker solutions in a pinch.
a real leader will make sure to pick you up when you're down, not try to expose your flaws for his/her benefit. & beware of some women in power who think it's okay to let someone feel inferior due to their job title or treatment in the workplace. women should be standing up & voicing concerns for workplace injustices. not cover them up through HR policies & department transfers.
I have my Mount Rushmore: people who are mentors in the four most important aspects of my life. romantic partnerships, family dynamic, career goals, & life's purpose. it is truly about the journey of getting through life by using the wisdom of others to shape how I feel about myself & others around me. a true leader should be wise enough to ask for help from someone, any one who is an expert in a particular subject matter.
who's in your Mount Rushmore?
